Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is being rolled out

Samsung has begun rolling out its Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade to the Galaxy Note 10.1.
The good news come from Germany, where some users have reported that the 300 MB OTA update has kindly asked them to be downloaded. So far, there's no info about other countries, but if Germany is getting it now, then more are sure to follow. There aren't too many details as to exactly what new stuff the update's bringing, but sweet goodies like Project Butter, one of Jelly Bean’s biggest improvements, which should provide Samsung’s new tablet with a big performance boost.

It also introduces the new Google Search app and Google Now to the Galaxy Note 10.1, which was launched in the United States with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed just three months ago. It’s unclear whether the software is landing in other territories as well, but Samsung has been known to release Android updates in Germany weeks ahead of their global rollouts.

If you don't live in Germany and you just can’t wait to try out Jelly Bean on your Galaxy Note 10.1, you can grab the ROM from SamFirmware. The update brings the S Pen-enabled tablet to Android version 4.1.1 (PDA N8000XXBLJ9, CSC N8000OXABLJ9).
